All About
"Asa’s beauty lies in its clean lines and simple yet beautiful bohemian design which invites and connects you to those important people in your life in a very loose but intimate, natural and spontaneous way that encourages both old and new relationships"

Is it good design simply because it embraces sustainability or comes as a lamp that resembles an umbrella? It seems design has gotten away from its real purpose- create desirable stuff to improve how we live and give back pleasure to a world that takes away so much.

Asa was inspired first and then designed. Inspired by a time when having a leisure conversation meant something. Inspired by nature’s inherit organic beauty. Inspired by spontaneity. Inspired by chillin’ with friends and forgetting about time. And inspired by innovation to bring about togetherness in an unconventional yet fluid manner.

Asa debuted during Atlanta’s first-ever international design event, MA08 Design Is Human. Bernard Mccoy and Skylar Morgan of Atlanta and Milan-based Mccoy Caimi Morgan, describes this cool bench as modern and design stripped of excess, unique and very contagious seating unlike anything ever produced for humans. “Asa’s beauty lies in its clean lines and simple yet beautiful bohemian design which invites and connects you to those important people in your life in a very loose but intimate, natural and spontaneous way that encourages both old and new relationships”, says Mccoy.
Milan architect and interior designer, Matteo Caimi, explained to MA that Asa is flexible beyond residential and extends to concept-retail applications and public use including musuems, cafes, restaurants, and parks. Asa will be produced in Italy with light production in Atlanta sometime late 2009. In addition, expect to see Asa in a variety of re-use materials, colors, configurations, and special collaborations with known and emerging designers such as Paris designer Sebastien Boissard, who has designed high profile projects for Philip Starck.
A strong example worthy of international exposure and of what’s to come from the new school of serious Atlanta creative talent, Asa will make its international debut in Milan in 2009, with hopes of changing how we will want to communicate and enjoy each other.
