SCIC, a leading company in the Italian kitchen design field, boasts a long history of fine cabinet making that started over forty five years ago. Thanks to Renzo Fornari, the company’s president who soon sensed the major growing opportunities offered by foreign markets, SCIC has been introduced to the American landscape in several major US cities, New York, Chicago, Miami and Los Angeles, and culminating with the latest opening of the showroom in Atlanta, Ga.

Join MA and SCIC (pronounced chic), Atlanta’s newest Italian luxury kitchen design, as we welcome the first SCIC showroom in Atlanta and present an evening of elevated contemporary design and sustainability.  SCIC’s special guest is Lightroom’s founder, William J. Carpenter PhD FAIA, who will be discussing Lightroom’s current projects and signing copies of his latest book- Modern Sustainable Residential Design: A Guide for Design Professionals. William J Carpenter Phd, FAIA

Dr. Carpenter is a nationally recognized architect and educator. He has won numerous design awards and accolades for his teaching. He is co-founder Lightroom a successful design firm in Decatur, Ga. specializing in award-winning architecture and new media projects for commercial and residential clients. Carpenter received the national ACSA/AIAS Educator of the Year Award in 2000 and the National Young Architects Citation in 1997. He was elected as a Fellow in the AIA in 2000. He is also author of an important and well-regarded book; —Learning by Building: Design and Construction in Architectural Education, Wiley, 1997. His work has been published in Southern Living, Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles, Atlanta Magazine and ERA; April, 2006 . He studied and worked for renowned architect and AIA Gold Medalist Samuel Mockbee FAIA and New York architect Norman Jaffe FAIA known for his elegant buildings which respond to the Long Island landscape.
