MA Checks Into 100% Design Awards

MA’s own, Bernard McCoy is in London for 100% DESIGN LONDON, 18-21 September, and will be reporting on several key events beginning with last night’s invitation-only design awards event.
Last night in London’s Fulham Town Hall was the place to be for the city’s top awards given for creativity, and MA was in the house. MA STUDIO, our European office attended the second day of 100% Design London by checking out how this international city recognizes its own for design and innovation. The house was packed and awards where given in eleven different categories ranging from Best Interior Product to Building Product Innovation. 100% Design Award sponsors included media partners WALLPAPER, BLUEPRINT, SUSTAIN, and ARCHITECTURE TODAY.
The award trophies in the shape of the extrusion star, are designed by Richard Shed. Shed wanted the awards to create something which would reflect a strong, identifiable visual communication with potential for a theme that can continue to evolve.
Congratulations to all the winners in this years 100% DESIGN AWARDS. Look for the premier of the MA AWARDS at MA09 DESIGN IS HUMAN, May 12-17 2009. Categories will include Best Sustainalbe Design, Best Interior Product, and Best Student Design, details to come.
